It is not in the daylight that we know
the day's worth
but in the darkness
Not in the calm that deepness of
understanding and peace comes
but in the middle of storm
Night teaches more than day
and tempest reveals
what eyes alone could never glimpse
Hide not from night's hard truth
and run not from the hand of raging rebuke
Embrace the truest teachers
Then when death itself
casts its dark shroud
around your feeble, trembling shoulders
you will rejoice
For you've learned that sorrow of the night
is no enemy
Questions in the dark and windy vale
will have their answers clearly
and the pain with vanquished darkness
will vanish at the first rays
of eternal day
