How can I explain the love of Someone as perfect as You?
What words can I use to describe the love of One so holy and true?
No matter what words I think of,
They fall so short of being perfect enough to tell how I feel about Your love.
No matter where I look I can’t find words in any language under the sun
To explain such an extraordinary love.
I guess all I can say is,
Jesus, You’re the only One who could ever make me feel this way.

My heart longs to give back to You the same kind of perfect love You give to me,
But how can I ever match the love of One so extraordinary?
I love You God, with all of my heart, all of my soul, and all of my mind;
But in my imperfect state, my love simply can’t compare to a love of Your kind.
I know my love falls so short of being perfect and true,
But Lord, I love You as much as I possibly can and I pray it’s enough for You.

My mind can’t comprehend why You would give such perfect love
to one who’s unable to give it back.
To be worthy of receiving Your love, Lord, I should be counted last.
Yet, You show me the kind of love a father has for his own child.
Even though I make so many mistakes, You look upon me with a loving smile.
I wish there was something I could say or do
To give even an ounce of that kind of love back to You.
