Trust in God
God has brought to my attention about trust. He also told me to look in the Bible on trust. I found that the word trust is found 135 times in the Bible. According to “The New Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance OF The Bible James Strong LL.D, S.T.D.” There are many scripture on trust. There in the Old Testament and the New Testament. I have also found examples on people in the Bible that have trust in God. However, I want to share with you the meaning of trust. The meaning comes from Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary say, about Trust, “To place confidence, or to commit or place in one’s care.”
I like this meaning because if we think about it we put our confidence (or trust) in people, doctors, cars, and jobs and other things. I have put confidence in things and people. God wants us to put our trust in him all the way. Think about what you put your trust in?
For example, I put gas in my husband’s truck last week and now the gage said it was full. I put my trust in that gage. That may seem to be silly but we do put trust in things like that. That is like going to a doctor; we trust the doctor and what he or she said. However, we cannot trust God to heal us, or to meet our finical needs. However, we trust our jobs to give us a pay check every week or every other week. I just found it odd and sad that I my self put trust in other things than God. I will give one more example about trust, and then I will move on. Last year around the end of October to the first week of November, I just thought I had to get me a job and go get a van. Now the reason for my decision was that my husband’s job had transferred him too Oakridge to work. I was not going to stay at home all day and not be able to do any thing, so I got me a job and a van. So, know since I did that I have to keep a job so I can pay for my van. I did not trust God to meet my needs in that area. I should have but I did not. I have made more mistakes in this area than I really should.
All God is asking us to do is trust in him in every thing. When we say that we love God and we believe he loves then we should be able to trust him in every thing. God dose not want his children to lack in anything. He wants us to have every thing we wanted, or desired. However, we have to trust him in what he tells us to do.
With this lesson or study, I am learning a lot about Trust and where it is in the Bible. I found my information in Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible King James Version, Key Word Study Bible King James Version, and The Bible Handbook Series Compact Bible Dictionary.
Psalms 49:6-9 (Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible KJV)
“They that trust in their wealth and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means redeem his brother, (nor the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever.) That he should still live forever and not see corruption.”
According to Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible on the definition of trust. Column 1 page 570 letter E says, “Heb. Batah, to confide in, so as to be secure without fear. It is rendered trust 107 times. Trusting and boasting in riches is a fool’s confidence and it soon vanishes.”
2nd Samuel 22:3, 31
“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower and my refuge, my savior; thou savest me from violence.” (Key Word Study Bible King James Version)
Let’s look at this verse and is what God is saying to us:
First thing is God is our Rock,
Second thing is he is our Shield
Third thing he is our horn of salvation
Fourth thing he is our high tower
Fifth thing he is our refuge
Sixth thing he is our savior
In addition, the seventh thing is he saved us from violence.
There are seven things in this verse a lone that God is to us. That shows me how much God loves me. He showed me these things to let me know this is who he is and what we have to look forward too.
Psalms 20:1
“As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.”

Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible Page 575 letter G. There are four lessons on trust (Verse 8-10).
Four lessons on trust
1. “Trust not in men of low degree, for thy can give no help. They may be willing, yet they have no ability to help.” [Psalms 62:9]
2. “Trust not in men of high degree, the ungodly rich, for they promise much, but perform nothing. They cause you to hope, but mock at your expectation (verse9). Hence, both those who are common and the ungodly rich are lighter than vanity, for they disappoint men who put their trust in them. (verse9).”
3. “Trust not in oppression and robbery, for oppression will not successes and ill-gotten gain will no prosper. God will soon scatter the oppressors and curse property acquired by robbery. He will reward every man according to his deeds (v 11-12).”
4. Trust in God at all times, for He is a true trust and safe refuge (Psalms 62:8)
These are some lessons and statements about trust and confidence. See God gave us this information to put into our heart and life. Therefore, that when every I were attacked spiritual with things from the devil, we can say Hey devil this is what God’s word says about me trusting God. Therefore, that is why we need to study and meditate on the word every day. No! Matter what battle we are going through we need to know the word in our heart and not step off that word. Moving on to the next steps in the lesson on trust there are some examples of people trusting God.
Seven example of trust in God Psalms 125:1 I found this on page 639 out of (Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible King James Version)
1. Noah
Genesis 6:14-22
“Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without pitch. And this is the fashion, which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it, fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make it the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and very thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into other ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and they sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, tow of every sort shall thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, tow of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
Hebrews 11:7
“By faith Noah, being moved by the fear of God, made ready an ark for the salvation of his family, because God had given him news of things which were not seen at the time; and through it the world was judged by him, and he got for his heritage the righteousness which is by faith.”
2. Abraham
Genesis 12:1-4
Now the Lord said to Abram, Go out from your country and from your family and from your father's house, into the land to which I will be your guide:
And I will make of you a great nation, blessing you and making your name great; and you will be a blessing:
To them who are good to you will I give blessing, and on him who does you wrong will I put my curse: and you will become a name of blessing to all the families of the earth.
So Abram went as the Lord had said to him, and Lot went with him: Abram was seventy-five years old when he went away from Haran.
Hebrews 11: 8-19

Pull me out3318 of the net4480, 7568 that2098 they have laid privily2934 for me: for3588 thou859 art my strength.4581 Into thine hand3027 I commit6485 my spirit:7307 thou hast redeemed6299 me, O LORD3068 God410 of truth.571 I have hated8130 them that regard8104 lying7723 vanities:1892 but I589 trust982 in413 the LORD.3068 I will be glad1523 and rejoice8055 in thy mercy:2617 for834 thou hast considered7200 (853) my trouble;6040 thou hast known3045 my soul5315 in adversities;6869 And hast not3808 shut me up5462 into the hand3027 of the enemy:341 thou hast set5975 my feet7272 in a large room.4800 Have mercy2603 upon me, O LORD,3068 for3588 I am in trouble:6862 mine eye5869 is consumed6244 with grief,3708 yea, my soul5315 and my belly.990 For3588 my life2416 is spent3615 with grief,3015 and my years8141 with sighing:585 my strength3581 faileth3782 because of mine iniquity,5771 and my bones6106 are consumed.6244 I was1961 a reproach2781 among all4480, 3605 mine enemies,6887 but especially3966 among my neighbors,7934 and a fear6343 to mine acquaintance:3045 they that did see7200 me without2351 fled5074 from4480 me. I am forgotten7911 as a dead man4191 out of mind:4480, 3820 I am1961 like a broken6 vessel.3627 For3588 I have heard8085 the slander1681 of many:7227 fear4032 was on every side:4480, 5439 while they took counsel3245 together3162 against5921 me, they devised2161 to take away3947 my life.5315 But I589 trusted982 in5921 thee, O LORD:3068 I said,559 Thou859 art my God.430 My times6256 are in thy hand:3027 deliver5337 me from the hand4480, 3027 of mine enemies,341 and from them that persecute4480, 7291 me.

5. Three Hebrew children
Daniel 3:16-17
Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abed-nego,5665 answered6032 and said560 to the king,4430 O Nebuchadnezzar,5020 we586 are not3809 careful2818 to answer8421 thee in5922 this1836 matter.6600 If2006 it be383 so, our God426 whom1768 we586 serve6399 is able3202 to deliver7804 us from4481 the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace,861 and he will deliver7804 us out of4481 thine hand,3028 O king.4430
6. Daniel chapter 6:1-28
It pleased8232, 6925 Darius1868 to set6966 over5922 the kingdom4437 a hundred3969 and twenty6243 princes,324 which1768 should be1934 over the whole3606 kingdom;4437
And over5924, 4481 these three8532 presidents;5632 of whom4481, 1768 Daniel1841 was first:2298 that1768 the459 princes324 might1934 give3052 accounts2941 unto them, and the king4430 should have1934 no3809 damage.5142
Then116 this1836 Daniel1841 was1934 preferred5330 above5922 the presidents5632 and princes,324 because3606, 6903, 1768 an excellent3493 spirit7308 was in him; and the king4430 thought6246 to set6966 him over5922 the whole3606 realm.4437
Then116 the presidents5632 and princes324 sought1934, 1156 to find7912 occasion5931 against Daniel1841 concerning4481, 6655 the kingdom;4437 but they could3202 find7912 none3809, 3606 occasion5931 nor fault;7844 forasmuch as3606, 6903, 1768 he1932 was faithful,540 neither3809 was there any3606 error7960 or fault7844 found7912 in5922 him.
Then116 said560 these479 men,1400 We shall not3809 find7912 any3606 occasion5931 against this1836 Daniel,1841 except3861 we find7912 it against5922 him concerning the law1882 of his God.426 Then116 these459 presidents5632 and princes324 assembled together7284 to5922 the king,4430 and said560 thus3652 unto him, King4430 Darius,1868 live2418 forever.5957
All3606 the presidents5632 of the kingdom,4437 the governors,5460 and the princes,324 the counselors,1907 and the captains,6347 have consulted together3272 to establish6966 a royal4430 statute,7010 and to make a firm8631 decree,633 that1768 whosoever3606, 1768 shall ask1156 a petition1159 of4481 any3606 God426 or man606 for5705 thirty8533 days,3118 save3861 of4481 thee, O king,4430 he shall be cast7412 into the den1358 of lions.744
Now,3705 O king,4430 establish6966 the decree,633 and sign7560 the writing,3792 that1768 it be not3809 changed,8133 according to the law1882 of the Medes4076 and Persians,6540 which1768 altereth5709 not.3809
Wherefore3606, 6903, 1836 king4430 Darius1868 signed7560 the writing3792 and the decree.633
Now when1768 Daniel1841 knew3046 that1768 the writing3792 was signed,7560 he went5954 into his house;1005 and his windows3551 being open6606 in his chamber5952 toward5049 Jerusalem,3390 he1932 kneeled1289 upon5922 his knees1291 three8532 times2166 a day,3118 and prayed,6739 and gave thanks3029 before6925 his God,426 as3606, 6903, 1768 he did1934, 5648 formerly.4481, 6928, 1836
Then116 these479 men1400 assembled,7284 and found7912 Daniel1841 praying1156 and making supplication2604 before6925 his God.426
Then116 they came near,7127 and spoke560 before6925 the king4430 concerning5922 the king's4430 decree;633 Hast thou not3809 signed7560 a decree,633 that1768 every3606 man606 that1768 shall ask1156 a petition of4481 any3606 God426 or man606 within5705 thirty8533 days,3118 save3861 of4481 thee, O king,4430 shall be cast7412 into the den1358 of lions?744 The king4430 answered6032 and said,560 The thing4406 is true,3330 according to the law1882 of the Medes4076 and Persians,6540 which1768 altereth5709 not.3809
Then116 answered6032 they and said560 before6925 the king,4430 That1768 Daniel,1841 which1768 is of4481 the children1123 of the captivity1547 of1768 Judah,3061 regardeth7761, 2942, 5922 not3809 thee, O king,4430 nor the decree633 that1768 thou hast signed,7560 but maketh1156 his petition1159 three8532 times2166 a day.3118
Then116 the king,4430 when1768 he heard8086 these words,4406 was sore7690 displeased888 with5922 himself, and set7761 his heart1079 on5922 Daniel1841 to deliver7804 him: and he labored1934, 7712 till5705 the going down4606 of the sun8122 to deliver5338 him.
Then116 these479 men1400 assembled7284 unto5922 the king,4430 and said560 unto the king,4430 Know,3046 O king,4430 that1768 the law1882 of the Medes4076 and Persians6540 is, That1768 no3809, 3606 decree633 nor statute7010 which1768 the king4430 establisheth6966 may be changed.8133
Then116 the king4430 commanded,560 and they brought858 Daniel,1841 and cast7412 him into the den1358 of1768 lions.744 Now the king4430 spoke6032 and said560 unto Daniel,1841 Thy God426 whom1768 thou607 servest6399 continually,8411 he1932 will deliver7804 thee.
And a2298 stone69 was brought,858 and laid7761 upon5922 the mouth6433 of the den;1358 and the king4430 sealed2857 it with his own signet,5824 and with the signet5824 of his lords;7261 that1768 the purpose6640 might not3809 be changed8133 concerning Daniel.1841
Then116 the king4430 went236 to his palace,1965 and passed the night956 fasting:2908 neither3809 were instruments of music1761 brought5954 before6925 him: and his sleep8139 went5075 from5922 him.
Then116 the king4430 arose6966 very early in the morning,8238, 5053 and went236 in haste927 unto the den1358 of1768 lions.744
And when he came7127 to the den,1358 he cried2200 with a lamentable6088 voice7032 unto Daniel:1841 and the king4430 spoke6032 and said560 to Daniel,1841 O Daniel,1841 servant5649 of the living2417 God,426 is thy God,426 whom1768 thou607 servest6399 continually,8411 able3202 to deliver7804 thee from4481 the lions?744
Then116 said4449 Daniel1841 unto5974 the king,4430 O king,4430 live2418 forever.5957
My God426 hath sent7972 his angel,4398 and hath shut5463 the lions'744 mouths,6433 that they have not3809 hurt2255 me: forasmuch as3606, 6903, 1768 before6925 him innocency2136 was found7912 in me; and also638 before6925 thee, O king,4430 have I done5648 no3809 hurt.2248
Then116 was the king exceeding glad4430, 7690, 2868 for5922 him, and commanded560 that they should take Daniel up5267, 1841 out of4481 the den.1358 So Daniel1841 was taken up5267 out of4481 the den,1358 and no manner3809, 3606 of hurt2257 was found7912 upon him, because1768 he believed540 in his God.426
And the king4430 commanded,560 and they brought858 those479 men1400 which1768 had accused399, 7170 Daniel,1768, 1841 and they cast7412 them into the den1358 of lions,744 them,581 their children,1123 and their wives;5389 and the lions744 had the mastery7981 of them, and broke all their bones in pieces1855, 3606, 1635 or ever they came5705, 1768, 3809, 4291 at the bottom773 of the den.1358
Then116 king4430 Darius1868 wrote3790 unto all3606 people,5972 nations,524 and languages,3961 that1768 dwell1753 in all3606 the earth;772 Peace8001 be multiplied7680 unto you.
I make4481, 6925, 7761 a decree,2942 That1768 in every3606 dominion7985 of my kingdom4437 men tremble1934, 2112 and fear1763 before4481, 6925 the God426 of1768 Daniel:1841 for1768 he1932 is the living2417 God,426 and steadfast7011 forever,5957 and his kingdom4437 that which1768 shall not3809 be destroyed,2255 and his dominion7985 shall be even unto5705 the end.5491
He delivereth7804 and rescueth,5338 and he worketh5648 signs852 and wonders8540 in heaven8065 and in earth,772 who1768 hath delivered7804 Daniel1841 from4481 the power3028 of the lions.744 So this1836 Daniel1841 prospered6744 in the reign4437 of Darius,1868 and in the reign4437 of Cyrus3567 the Persian.6543

Know the seven examples of turst and confidence that are above are found in the King James Version of Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible. I typed them out of the e-sword of the internet. So if you wandering where I got the information from is Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible and E-sword. I got mainly got my information from the Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible. Gen. 24: 1-8
And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things. And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, put , I pray thee, thy hand under thy thigh: And I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: But thou shalt go unto my country and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. And the servant aid unto him, Preadventure the woman will not be wiling to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring they son again unto the land from whence thou came? And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke unto me, and that sware unto me, saying Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thous shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. And if the woman will not be illing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath; only bring not my son thither again.

Through out the Old Testament and the New Testament God’s word gives us example and reason’s why we should trust in him and his word. The word gives us people and situation they were in and how they trusted God. God wants us to trust in him like we want our children to trust in us. God dose not want to hide things from us or keep things from us. He wants to give us everything we want or need or desire. But we have to trust in him and let him gidued us to the right place and time. Because we may want it now but God says wait. So trust him, and listen to him.
