Oh how I long for you,
The warmth of your presence
It’s all I seek,
When I stray
I kneel upon the ground,
Seeking your forgiveness.
Wicked and wretched am I,
Time after time
You pick me up
Wipe me off
Placing me amongst my path.
Your love unconditional and true,
How come it’s so easy
For me to betray you?
I try hard and mean well,
Though there are days
When I’m just apt to fail.
You know my weaknesses,
I reveal them to you daily.
Time after time
You strengthen me,
Next time I don’t fall so hard.
You are my father,
The lord above
Abundant with love.
