Emerged in water,
I feel the warmth of your blood
As it pours over me,
Washing away my iniquities
Cleansing me pure as a newborn child.
Dying to myself on the inside,
I feel your strength
As I begin my walk in you.
A life of sin left behind,
Forgiven, truly forgotten
All that is left to flourish,
Is you, Jesus Christ
My friend,
My comforter,
My savior.
I looked upon life
Distraught and confused,
Crying in anguish
As days flew,
Never understanding why I had to be here,
Wanting truly to disappear.
You give me hope,
Courage, and strength
A clear meaning and purpose
For each newly dawned day.
Emerged in water,
Your blood spills over me,
I’m sacrificed
Completely given to you.
Bathed in Christ,
Washed a new.
