MEASUREMENTS OF FAITH
Growing Faith
© July 23, 2007
It’s been said that the Lord uses adversity and hard times to develop our faith and our character. If that’s the case then I feel like I’m over the top in my “Faith Development Quota” for the year. This has been a really challenging year for me, personally, and for my children. There has been death, financial struggles, loss of income and personal struggle but God has been with me every inch of the way. There are some things I want to reveal that God has re-taught me or guaranteed me of as I’ve traveled this demanding road of discovering the depths of God’s love for me as I grow in faith:
1. I belong to Jesus and He will never let go of me
2. Nobody can steal Christ’s love away from me
3. People can attack you but they can’t take away the faith and hope that God gives
4. God is always looking over my situation in life
5. Christ is piloting my “boat of life” and He knows where the safe harbors are
6. Sorry will eat away at your heart but faith will restore your soul
7. Walking through the forest of darkness, His light has gone before me
8. He overcomes all that seek to destroy us
9. He gets you through even when you no longer can hold your head high
10. Shame caused you by someone else doesn’t have to overwhelm you
11. He is my reason to have Christ-esteem, for without Him I am nothing
12. People will let you down, “If you need me just call” is a lame excuse for not following up on ministering to people in hurt or sorrow. You have to make an effort and keep on top of showing concern, as Christ is concerned, for those who hurt.
13. There is joy is knowing Christ is with you when you awake in the darkness of night.
14. I give thanks for those things I still don’t understand
15. My faith has grown in the last ten months
16. I am beginning to understand how much knowing Christ as Lord and Savior “really” means.
17. I am ready to go “home” because only good awaits me where He is.
18. Remember your manners, God doesn’t like His children to behave like spoiled brats.
19. Pray, pray, pray
20. Read the Bible it gives comfort when nothing else can
21. Listen to the Spirit that God has given you, he will direct, teach, and show you God’s ways
22. Call out to your Father “Abba, Abba”, Father I am your child.
23. TRUTH MATTERS
24. Sin destroys
25. Blessed is one who calls Jesus Lord and lives for Him
26. Serving is better than receiving
27. There is no shame in weeping for those who have gone astray, what is shameful is if they do not repent
