Critical

When we see one who doesn't look
The way we think they should,
They don't wear their hair or dress
Exactly like we would.

Maybe they don't sound the same
As we do when we talk,
Or perhaps we don't like the way
They swagger when they walk.

Some have a tongue that when they speak
It cuts just like a knife,
Wherever they are it seems there's
Too much sorrow and strife.

Perhaps they have tattoos – that are
All over their body,
Or they walk down the street in clothes
That look mighty shoddy.

Sometimes they'll use curse words and
Have a drink now and then,
But oh, my Gawd, we wouldn't dare for
We all know it's a sin.

God's Spirit is the only one
With the right to condemn;
So let's be quiet and listen to
The Savior of all men.

We can't worry about the twig
In someone else's eye,
When the log in our own's so big
We barely see to get by.
.
Our job as the children of God
Is love all men the same
Not criticize and condemn but
Bless them in Jesus' name.

I don't think God is as concerned
With a damn, drink or tattoo,
As He is with the heart of one
Feeling lonely and blue.

Don't waste time being critical
Let the Lord have control,
And remember never condemn
Or you could lose your soul.

Let's all look for the good in those
Whom we see every day,
And say, "God bless you " to each one
As they go on their way.

If we choose to criticize, and
There is no good reason,
Our God will soon repay us in
His due time and season.
