Our Glorious Triune God
~The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen~
Who can fathom the matchless wonder of the truths of this verse? For tucked away at the very end of the book of Second Corinthians is found beauty beyond comparison. The Triune God, His character and ways of relating to fallen, yet redeemed man is unveiled before our adoring heart. How can we not bow and worship at such revelation, the truths of which will be continually revealed to us in ever-increasing manner throughout eternity?
The first part of the prayer begins with the marvelous grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, if we could understand and appreciate more the grace of our dearest, beloved Saviour! Grace irresistible. The wondrous grace of the Son of God! I will give a few definitions of grace but to appreciate it, one must truly experience it. His grace is grace which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm and loveliness. He speaks kindly to us with good will, loving-kindness, favour. Grace speaks of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. Do you experience His grace dear reader?
The love of our Heavenly Father! Oh, our Father how can we ever thank Thee enough? Your love sought us until we finally succumbed to such perfect love! Your love gave for us the delight of Your eyes, our Jesus. Thank You, our Father! We can never thank You enough, our Abba. No one can pluck us out of Your outstretched hand; that hand that waved over the majestic, awesome mountains and sea, saying “let there be” is a mighty hand and we are kept in that hand! We are Your children, Your sons, Your daughters. When You see us You see the sweet fragrance of Christ and we afford You great joy. ~Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God~ ~Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee~ Your drawing-love is irrestible. So kind, so compassionate to us You are.
Finally, our sweet Holy Spirit. How little we appreciate Thee. Forgive us, our blessed Holy Spirit. You are our Comforter, the One who comes alongside of us to help. Your sweet words of comfort and encouragement are beyond compare. You unveil to us the beauties of our Jesus. You unveil the truths of scripture to us as ever-increasing light becomes ours. You lead us and guide us, You warn us and you put Your own desires within our heart. Ever-faithful to us, ever-true. We depend on You to lead us in the right direction. We depend upon You to lead us into our great purpose for living. Oh, blessed Holy Spirit, we love you, we adore You; You are just like our dearest Jesus. Thank You blessed One!
We bow before our Triune God. Let us fall at His feet and be content to lay there until He lifts us up. Someday, we will see Him in eternity as His beauty; love and grace fill us with ever-increasing adoration and delight.
But when You come,
I am filled with wonder.
Sometimes I think
I glimpse Eternity.
