Instead of being born into sin, I’d be thrown into the belly of hell
I’d have no rock, no fortress, no deliverer, no counselor, and I’d have on testimony to tell

I would triumph over nothing and only torture would I endure
There’d be nothing live for, not even a life-long dream
And surely nothing to die for, in the greater scheme of things

No power would I possess; because all I'd have would be this flesh
No place for my goodness to hide, because in pure evil is where I’d reside

I’d feel no love for no one and pain I’d make my friend to be
Bitterness, envy, revenge and strife would be all too familiar to me

I’d never know how to open my mouth and give the Lord high praise
I’d never fully understand that it was simply by His grace that I am saved

I couldn’t fight the Good fight; because that’s a fight I wouldn’t know
I’d have no wisdom or understanding so I wouldn’t know which way to go

I wouldn’t have a spirit and my soul would be no more
And my every waking moment I’d be knocking on death’s door

I’d be no new creation or be brought out from the life I had known
I’d be lifeless, hopeless, fatherless and left all alone
I can only speak for me and how I think my life would go
How do you think your life would play out if God told the whole world no
