Some Sweet Day
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Oh! That thought, it is so pleasant
Standing there to welcome me home
When in this world I no longer roam
To step into the arms of His warm embrace
Seeing My Lord forever face to face
Oh! How wonderful that will someday be
The bonds of this world I will be ever free
To join the table at the Lamb’s victory feast
No longer affected by the schemes of the beast
To finally be home in Heaven high up above
Oh! What joy, to dwell in God’s pure love
Brothers and Sisters,
Who doesn’t long for that “Some sweet day”? I have been enjoying a day of listening to some good Christian songs and it just brings my focus back to where it needs to be. Times here on earth can seem long and tough, but there is a “some sweet day” for each of us. It is funny, not just thinking about dying, but actually looking forward to that rest.
No! I’m not suicidal; I just get excited thinking about the hope and the promise that awaits us there “some sweet day”. Everyone pictures what Heaven is going to be like, but we some times over look the best part…that face to face worship of Our Lord. Wow! Can’t you just picture that beautiful image of Jesus Christ standing there with that big smile on His face welcoming you home? If you can’t, then you should take a moment to do so.
Some sweet day may be today or fifty years from now, we do not know the number of our days nor how much longer the Lord will tarry. Maybe we should spend a little more time “planning” for that future instead of the hollow one here. Yes, we must be good stewards, but be careful not to become obsessed with the things of this world (it easier than you think). Focus on that “some sweet day”.
Keep serving until then…
God bless,
Christian
