My people have been lost sheep.
[Jeremiah 50:5]
*********************************
"Oy vey, Lord! Two hours of
LOST, tonight!"
"Yes, child. You know, child,
My Word, there, holds some very
different meaning."
"Yeah, Lord. But, it's tough
to find stuff in Your Word
that goes with our current
television programs.
How about this part:
He was lost, and is found.
[Luke 15:24]
or:
I have gone astray
like a lost sheep...
[Psalms 119:176]
or, how about this one:
Woe is me!
For I am lost!
[Isaiah 6:5]
That's a good one, Lord.
It sort of describes my
feelings as I watch LOST."
"Yes, child."
"So, Lord; What's
Your take on this next
episode? Tonight we get
to see what happens
after Charlie gets captured
by those crazy women living
under the ocean in that
what'cha-ma-call-it; my
question is what are they
doing there, and more
importantly, how do they
get groceries or all that
make-up they're wearing?"
"It is a mystery, My precious."
"And, what about the OTHERS?
Why do they persist in going
after those scruffy, sweaty, dirt-
streaked guys living on the beach?
I don't see anything that grabs
MY desire for them, at all. If
I were an OTHER, I'd be
running in the opposite direction."
"Yes, child.
[SIGH.]
These questions
appear to be extremely
significant to too many
of My children."
"Well, Lord; IS there
anything more vital to
our psyche, than
wondering how poor
Charlie is going to
fare among those
lady warriors, or
just what that blond
OTHER lady doctor
is up to with
her scruffy beach
companions?"
"Oy mey es mir, child."
"The SCRUFFY I'm
really interested in,
is that handsome guy
with the beard: You
know, Lord, the one
with the gorgeous
accent, who used to
be a monk until he got
fired for breaking into
the wine cellar, one night?
WHAT'S his name....Desmond?
He'd be kind of cute, if
he would just take a bath
once in a while,
stop mooning over
Penny, and thinking all
of his visions have to
come true. You know
what I mean, Lord?"
"Yes, child. All of this
is very perplexing."
"Okay, Lord! OKAY,
I know I'm just
boring You, again!"
"No, My precious:
worrying might be
a better word."
"Oh, don't worry,
Lord. I'm not totally
bonkers - at least,
not yet. But, I do
have one pertinent
question, Lord."
"Is this something
about My Word, child?"
"Well, sort of; I was
just wondering what
the guys in Your Book
would think of LOST.
If they looked at our
TV, they probably would
think all that stuff was
really real, You know?"
[SMILE.]
"They probably would
watch LOST, and think,
"Woe is me! What has
happened on earth, since
we left it? Oy vey!"
"OY VEY, child?"
"Well, I can't think of
the equivalent in Hebrew,
or Greek, Lord. You know
how poorly I did in
Hebrew school."
[NOD.]
"So, are You going to
watch LOST, with us,
Lord, tonight?"
"Of course, child.
But, remember to open
My Book after you are
done.."
"Yes, Lord. I promise.
I'm still struggling through
Matthew; You do discuss
lost in there, though it's
somewhat along different
lines....."
"That is a blessing, My child.
That is a blessing."

I will rescue My sheep.
[Ezekiel 34:10]
