The prophets told of long ago
The world would see a king;
Who’d come to them from Bethlehem
With Israel’s Hope to bring.

And though they sought an earthly man
Their hearts were unaware;
The plans of God that were foretold
The Destined King would bear.

The Angels watched in silent awe
As God left Heaven’s throne;
Descended and was born of flesh
His purpose to atone.

And to the Wise men He made known
The star that shone so bright;
O’er Bethlehem, as Angels sang
Salvation’s born tonight.

All through recorded history
We see the Father’s plan;
Provide for sin a covering
Provide the Perfect Lamb.

And each December celebrates
The birth of God’s own Son;
The One who lived to die for us
Through Christ God’s plan was done.

Yes, through the Baby Jesus came
God’s choice to reconcile;
The world for all eternity,
Both Jew and the Gentile.
