DREAM BIG; THINK BIG!

And they said, come, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

And the Lord said, Behold, the people are one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Genesis 11:5, 6;

There is no limit to what a man can achieve as long as he can imagine it and pursue it. One thing every man has ability to do for as long as he lives is to dream.

In the above passage, the people of the then world had a dream. They wanted to build a tower big and tall enough to reach unto heaven. That was no joke! It was a very big dream! However, because they could conceive and imagine it, they set out with great determination to achieve it. They set out to achieve their dream and became invincible so much that it took only God to stop them!

God did not stop them because He has anything against big dreams. He would not have prevented them, but for the fact that their mission was against His will of filling the whole earth.
God has nothing against you dreaming big. In fact you pay God a compliment by dreaming very big. It is only when your dreams and visions are against His will that you do not secure His blessings.

Everything that man needs to excel and be what God destined him to be in life was put in him at creation. God at creation made each of us wonderfully and fearfully, putting into us great power capable of achieving whatever we conceive in our hearts and pursue with our might. Within each of us lies that limitless power of imagination which makes it possible for us to envision the great heights we want to attain and the destiny we want to fulfill. It is unfortunate however that in spite of these unquantifiable endowments, majority are ending up as failures and mediocre not attaining the heights that God destined for them. The reason is not far-fetched, a man who lives without definite vision is bound to waste his God’s-given resources, grope in darkness and roam hopelessly in the wilderness of life.

What brought you where you are today was the dream you had yesterday. You cannot grow beyond your imagination. If you do not imagine great things, you cannot achieve great things. Often times, we blame our failures on people, the devil and all that, but the truth is that we ourselves are the obstacles on our own paths just because we fail to see beyond the ordinary.

You cannot be great in life going after ordinary things. You’ve got to imagine the unusual; you’ve got to dream big. The Wright brothers at the wake of 20th century saw what no one else saw. They imagined a metal flying in the air! Their dream gave birth to the aeroplane, which now is the fastest form of transportation. Anything is possible.

How big are your dreams? What do you want to do with your life? It is a pity that a lot of believers shut up the grace of God on their lives by settling down for trivial things and average life. They are usually satisfied with average of everything – average education, average finances, average achievements, average family, average marriage, average accommodation, average Christian-life! Why do you want to settle down for little things? Jesus did not come to give us average life. He came that we may have life and that we may have it more abundantly. To operate in the realm of abundant life that Christ came to offer us, our dreams must be very big. Our visions must be larger than life. It is time to break off from everything that holds us down.

The scripture says that ‘With God nothing shall be impossible and to him who believes all things are possible’. This clearly shows that a man can actually operate in the realm of God! He can achieve whatsoever he wills, if he can imagine it, see it through the eyes of faith and pursue it with great determination.

The size of your dreams determines the extent of your greatness. If your dreams are not big enough, you may not survive the great challenges of this age. It is vision that makes your life exciting. If your imagination is centred on trivial things and frivolities, you may spend the rest of your life in futility and mediocrity. You can be whatever you want to be; you can attain the greater heights you desire to reach. All you need to do is CONCEIVE IT, PURSUE IT and ACHIEVE IT.
