Healed from Bipolar

As many people already know, Bipolar Disorder is medically incurable. Yet, God is the God of miracles and mercy!

In July 1978, I experienced my first full-fledged mental breakdown resulting in hospitalization at Napa State Hospital. The diagnosis at that time was Schizophrenia. In March 1979, I again became incapable of taking proper care of myself and ended up hospitalized there again. The records show that this time I had Manic-Depression (which is now better known as Bipolar Disorder).

I had been on alcohol and drugs since I was a teenager, at times attempting to regulate my moodswings. For depression, I would take stimulants and when my moods would get too elevated, I would then switch to tranquilizers or sedatives. One of the problems with taking drugs is that they are progressive.

Through going to 12-step programs, I met a man who talked about Jesus. That was all I heard, the Name of Jesus. On November 30, 1979, I prayed with this man and invited Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of my life.

Through a series of events over the following three years, I was finally freed from the Lithium Carbonate medication I was told I would have to take for the rest of my life. It was through the power of God, through studying the Bible and renewing my mind to it (and applying what I read to my life), and through understanding food and its effect on my body, that I was finally healed.

In my new book God Can Heal Anything!, I share many details regarding what it was like having had the disorder, giving the reader better understanding of the mental patient, as well as many of the things I did in order to get free. It was written not only for those who have the ailment, or know someone with it, but also to benefit ministers, mental health professionals, as well as for anyone with any kind of illness. God truly can heal anything!
