CHAMPION OF "FILL"
Remember when you would pull into a service station... "Yes, FILL up my tank, please." "Yes, clean my windshield, please." "Yes, check my oil. too, thank you." Didn't even have to get out of the car---unless for snacks or using the restroom. Then came the CHOICEY-CHOICEY years. You could still have an attendant service your car, or you could do-it-yourself. Do-it-yourself was cheaper, so we 'trained' ourselves to use that method. Now we have evolved, or is it devolved, almost strictly to the do-it-yourself routine. But it is not any CHEAPER, right?
"Do I not FILL heaven and earth?"
declares the Lord. Jer 23:24b.
Meet the Champion Of FILL---the Lord God Almighty Himself. And filling the universe is covering a lot of territory. This is a claim that God has made. Omnipresence is one of the great doctrines of the Christian faith, as well as believed in Old Testament times. God made it, God FILLS it!
"Then He said to me, 'Son of man, eat
what is before you, eat this scroll I am
giving you and FILL your stomach with it.'
so I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as
honey in my mouth." Eze 3:3.
"The ordinances of the Lord are sure
and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold,
than much fine gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than
honey from the comb." Ps 19:9b,10.
The serious follower of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth should FILL his/her inner being with the Word of God each day. Taste the Word regularly and see how sweet it is to your disposition.
"He will yet FILL your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy." Job 8:21.
If you are being 'honeyized' daily by the Word of God, a natural consequence will be increasing occurrences of laughter and joy. You can bank on it! And you can't hold it in, either.
"May the God of hope FILL you will all joy
and peace as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit." Rom 15:13.
Peace and joy---people pay thousands for them, governments pay billions. Our God says you cannot buy them. The Holy Spirit produces peace and joy within our inner being---when we repeatedly feast on the 'honey'---the Word of the Lord. And hope can reference the next minute, the next hour, the next day, the next month, the next year---anytime in the future. God is interested in your future. Worry not, or be overanxious. The God of hope is always very, very near.
"His mother said to the servants, 'Do
whatever He tells you.' Nearby stood
six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews
for ceremonial washing, each holding from
twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants, 'FILL the jars
with water,'; so they filled them
to the brim.
Then He told them, "Now draw some out
and take it to the master of the banquet.'
They did so, and the master of the banquet
tasted (SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!)
the water than had been turned into wine.
The Christian life is to be an adventure, with times of excitement. In a daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ,
you can expect and experience a multitude of neat SURPRISES. God is that kind of a God!
FILL is an inherent component of the very nature of God.
"SIR, fill my tank, please."
