When a couple is expecting a baby, what do they usually do?
Either they fix up a room by painting and adding border and putting new furniture and doing all kinds of things to it for that new baby. Or some even add on a new addition to their home for the new baby. When the bundle of joy finally does arrive, then that little bit of flesh and blood and joy now becomes the center of their world. You now do things you wouldn’t do before like nothing touches the floor where your baby lays to ensure a clean and protected place. You don’t leave things lying around. And some people even stop doing things on a larger scale. Then there are a great many of things that you begin to do as a parent that as a couple or even a single person you would have never done.
Now as a new parent, you change your whole life, even if you don’t know it, to fit that one (or more) tiny little person into you life and schedule.
Now as people around you see you working diligently to prepare and get the things ready for your newborn baby(s), not once does the phrase “your going to make your child self-centered” come into voice. As a matter of fact they praise you for getting yourself prepared. You say that is stupid for someone to say something like that. Ok, lets look at it from this point of view:
A Father, who is preparing for many children, builds them a home, with all the borders and cool things a parent puts in the room. Puts up beautiful lights and scenery all around the room and animals for the children to play with. The Father does a wonderful job getting everything prepared for the children. However, those children are looked at as self-centered or egotistical because they believe that the Father did all those things for them.
Yes, you guessed it, the Father is God Almighty and the Children are us that have been born again into God’s family.
I have heard that Christians are self-centered in thinking that we are “alone” in the universe, that there are no aliens out there to reach out to and communicate with. God who made all this for us, is treated so disrespectfully, and not given the proper credit due to Him.
I encourage you children of God, realize and understand what God has done for you and given to you. Don’t take life and this earth too lightly, because we don’t know how long God has given us on this earth. Take care to give God the glory He deserves and to take care of the things God has given you. And realize that you are the Center of Gods World.
