At Appointed Time -

How great, benevolent love of God, whose eyes roam through creation
Looking amidst magnificent works of hands
Seeking for those who obey Him,
Even in man's lost state,
His love was never totally removed
Through bitters years of destruction and darkness,
Waiting for salvation promised
Through tumultuous, seemingly overwhelming waves of stormy seas of destruction
When wanton tyrants ruled darkness over stormy oceans of deceptions web
He kept at hold from total annihilation man lured into lulling state of listlessness,
Through changing eras and buried times
When hope was sustenance of meaningful existence,
Through long years of cruel subjugation to false leaders
Man waited for ultimate promise of salvation and restoration
Removed from Father’s favour yet held in loving fold of understanding
Waiting for Messiah to come
At appointed time God sent forth light into seemingly overwhelming darkness
Light of life, gentle Lamb of God sent to set mankind free
Restoring them to Father’s favour again
Removing God’s wrath that befell man following disobedience
Hearts long held in sorrow rejoice at entry of light
Welcoming relief of generations’ of expectations made visible at appointed time
In Christ Jesus, glorious Saviour of mankind -
