Unending Love


When I behold wondrous works of your hands, O Jehovah,
Immense depths of your compassion for Man;
A father's unending love for His children,
I stand amazed at immeasurable depths of God's compassion
Stretching through expanding aeons
Bearing recalcitrant souls in self torment
In loving arms of nurturing care
Man who for so long, was far from obvious truth;
Of single source of all and unto all
Lost to self in dismal despair of hidden recesses
Deprived of light of enlightenment
Seeking meaning in places bereft of meaning-

Man whose authority of heritage stolen, is in Christ restored;
In Messiah come to redeem His own is balance of creation restored
Your word you set upon lectern as light shining bright
In dusk of human despair when men were huddled
Awaiting salvations trumpet call of victory
Waiting for warmth of rising sun
Sun that is light of life in Christ revealed
Burning ever so brightly, bringing warmth and light
Renewal, restoration in salvation's gift of life eternal
To a cold damp place, long devoid of hope
Hope now fully restored in ancient prophecy failed
A gentle guiding light for weary travellers trudging through life's paths -

Yet, how many have these paths of travail failed to complete
Sent tumbling to craggy edges of sins futility
Deceptions' fog of disappearing mist on life's path
Ensnaring foolish disobedient in devious trap of self destruction
Sadly mourned are worthy souls lost in yawning void in very sight of salvation's Lord
Whose glorious light fills creation with hope renewed
Failing to comprehend incomparable love of God for His handiworks
I cannot but proclaim your praise, exalting you O Jehovah in your great works of wonders
For loving grace of life eternal in Christ enabled -

Where can man be outside his Creator? -

As for these marvellous things you have blessed us with
Far too great are their manifold expressions
Here we are, still grappling to comprehend how expansive salvation's provision
That upon innocent back of Creation's Lord and Saviour,
Brutally assaulted
His innocent flesh stripped
Painful layer by painful layer
That from his torment undeserved
Salvation's price is paid, and
Undeserving man is relieved of burden of severest impositions -

Grappling hands of darkness have been cut short
Life restored to man
Set amidst glorious light of salvations magnificence
Darkness flees before light of life
Its hold broken
Sin's deceptions in a moment unmasked
That when joyous hearts running to meet their Shepherd
Look back
Great is their dismay at deceptive pollution that had ensnared them
Thus, is man's praise of worship ever so greater -
