Poetry
We love you Jesus
The churches cry
For You we live
For You we’d die
From North to South
From East to West
We offer our praise
And join the rest
I hear the masses
They voice their cry
Their lips are moving
They close one eye
On day number seven
All lift their hands
They meet in temples
Across the lands
I do not hear you
Thunders loud a voice
Your heart is far from me
It is your choice
Your hearts are hard
Your jaws are set
Your hands are raised
Your eyes are wet
Your prayers beat up
Against an iron sky
No comfort comes
You wonder why
My arms are open
The opening wide
You stay without
Bound by pride
Your temples crumble
Around raised hands
Death sweeps over
Your holy lands
Religion itself
Is your snare
Ears are closed
Hearts don’t care
But, if you’ll listen
My voice will heed
Healing will come
I’ll fill your need
From day one
Together we walked
Our hearts were one
In gardens we talked
I long to heal you
And restore your land
To lift you up
With My own hand
Devour My words
Tear down your walls
And walk with Me
In golden halls
Shout my name
On knees do bow
It’s my last call
The time is now
