The Remnant

Exodus 26:12
And the remnant that remaineth of the curtain of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

As I was reading this chapter this scripture struck me. God was giving Moses detailed instructions as to how He wanted the tabernacle built! Minute details were written out, and here we are told Moses was to use the material that was left over – the remnant. There was to be nothing wasted!

Isaiah tells us, but now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou art our potter, and we all our the work of thy hand. (Isaiah 64:8)

King David told us, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them. (Psalms 139:14-16)

Have you ever felt like you are the remnant, the leftover and nothing could ever come from the mess you’ve made in your life? There is hope!

Have you ever looked at a loved one or friend and felt like all hope was lost, due to mistakes they made along the way? There is hope!

God waste nothing! He uses what we would normally discard! He gives beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that we might be called trees of righteousness (Taken from Isaiah 61:3)

Don’t lose hope! Don’t give up! God, the Master Potter picks up the broken pieces and repairs the pot! There was nothing wasted of the material to make the tabernacle – there will be nothing wasted of your life!

Lord, sometimes it seems that we are shattered in trillions of pieces! It seems we are the discarded material and nothing good could come from this mess we call life. Yet, Your Word tells us that You waste nothing! Not one issue, experience or hurt will go to waste! Thank You Lord for picking up the pieces and making us what You would have us to be! Lord there are so many that do not know You as the Master Potter or the Healer! I ask that You wrap Your arms of love around them today and envelope them in peace!
