Lord what if You were not there?
Surely no one else could care
Listen, comfort and counsel me
The way that You do.

Father, you're my best friend
The One who knows me
Through and through
My faults, my moods
My hopes, and fears
And yet my Lord You hold me dear.

In this all men are one and same
Both male and female -
Their love can fail when needed most
But then that's natural isn't it Lord
You made us so
But shouldn't we grow?

Lord, what if You were not there?
Then of course I'd never be
Just as well Father...
'Cos I'd never want to be
If You were not
I rest my head on Your feet dear Lord
I'm just so comforted
Knowing that You're there for me.
