Who am I , O Lord , that you are mindful of me……………

Have you ever felt invisible in a crowd , voiceless amidst a decorum of conversation and lost in the shadows ?

The façade of modern reality streams across at face value where strength is valued in appearances rather than lifestyle.
I know of a King who was working in the field when the Lord instructed his prophet to ordain him.

Prophet Samuel was sent to ordain one of Jesse’s sons as the new king of Israel and so be it Jesse (the Father of the house ) lined up his sons and got them ready for the anointing .(He forgot there was one more in the field) The spokesperson of the Lord himself looked upon the disposition and countenance of these young men and considered this as criteria for kingship.

And the Lord intervened and said , No not this one , and Samuel proceeded to the next until there was no one left in the line. Then they remembered David in the field , about his father’s business , tending to the sheep faithfully as he was asked to do so.
In his obedience and servitude , his Father forgot he had one more son , the prophet could not discern a king yet God saw the heart of this man David because stature is futile to the Lord and appearance , a mere mask.

He , the Lord searches the heart and draws out unto him , those with the heart after his own.Who am I , O Lord , that you are mindful of me. When the world throws you in the shadows and the church leaves you behind the scenes , and your family consider you invisible and your friends find you unnoticeable , he the Lord calls you “highly favoured” , “set apart” , “son” , “daughter” , “child” and beloved.

Paul proclaimed in all humility , to live is Christ and to die is gain but if I had to continue in this life , then I will labour for the Lord. It is very easy to be missed but strategically placed in the kingdom of God is one who assumes his rightful place before the throne of God without being ushered in . At the end of the day , it is God’s opinion that counts , his thoughts that matter and his words that prevail.

The Lord calls you , chosen , royal priesthood , holy nation and there is no greater concept of significance that he who labours , unnoticed, without grumbling and joyously because the Lord looks at the heart when mans looks at the outward appearances. Behind the scenes and in priivate is where the greatest spiritual battles are fought and where victories in the heavenlies are won. The nature of man is to condemn and belittle , the Glory of God is to draw and reward . Let the refiner of pure silver and the Master Potter of clay design you to shine behind the scenes. Let the light inside of you illuminate the shadows.

When God is mindful of you then your labour is successful . You , who is considered least among men , will be elevated to your positional blessing because when God opens avenues no man can hinder it. Each day , attain to the full measure of Christ where your destiny lies and God’s power is resident .
Shadows are always present , just never noticed . After all , David became one of the mightiest kings ever known and his name echoes through the hallways of heaven . The world saw a shepherd boy , God saw a king. Because of David , God established always there would be a descendent of him on the throne. Do not grow weary in doing good. Step under the oil of anointing and assume your rightful place as a Son / Daughter of the King.

This devotion is dedicated to all who labour and toil in the Lord’s field unnoticed . Be steadfast , immovable , knowing he who called you will sustain you and the Lord look upon you and let his face to shine upon you.
