By the grace and mercy of GOD, my wife and I just relocated to Sioux City Iowa. In our search for a local body of believers, that just believes. It is becoming alarmingly apparent that religion and its code of laws, is running at an all time high. Traditions and man made calls to perfection are saturating the church of GOD, the very traditions and religious views the WORD of GOD warns us about. Like the Pharisees of old adhered to the written code but refused to surrender their heart to GOD, they refused to listen and obey the quiet still voice inside them, they refused to look past what is seen and venture into the certainty of GOD and HIS WORD being fulfilled.
Do not get me wrong, an encouragement to obey JESUS is great as well as a must, but the words we are to obey is not written on any pieces of paper, they are written in the confines of our heart and soul. Reading the WORD of GOD and listening to well prepared speeches and acts on a stage does not prepare our hearts and minds to receive the bread of life. Jesus tells us in John 15 that it is impossible to do anything without HIM.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Mankind perverted and still perverts the WORD of GOD, teaching that if we do not live up to what brings death (the law brings death) we will never receive life from GOD. It does not matter which law, mankind in its own inherent power can not live up to GODS standards, whether it be the laws governing adultery all the way thru to the laws governing the tithe.
So how is it that we come to obey the commands of JESUS? Not by reading the bible reducing it to a mere book of words, but only by seeking the face of GOD and walking with HIM every minute of every day. There is no other way. Jesus promised to transform us into what HE desires, not what other men may desire us to become, if we will only surrender our hearts and minds to HIM and HIS way of doing things. We are transformed as we quit being so selfish, thinking that our time is better spent doing this or that, or anything else that does not include GOD and HIS guidance. We must read the WORD of GOD combined with an in depth study, with prayer, with meditation and praise to GOD our FATHER for the blessing of HIS wisdom.
An example on the tithe, we are to seek what the desire of GOD is in our lives and walks with HIM. We prayerfully ask what we are to give not just write a check for 10 percent, but be willing to give what HE lays on our hearts. HIS WORD says that each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, this decision comes from our willingness to surrender all we are to GOD and HIS purposes. Listening to the SPIRIT inside each of us, asking in order that we may receive HIS guidance as HE promised.
We can not entrust our personal walks, relationship and fellowship with CHRIST to the words of a man on a pulpit, specially without reading and seeking on our own, nor without prayer, without meditation, without the study of HIS WORD and praise to our GOD. GOD never told us to entrust man to teach us the things of HIM, HE said the HOLY SPIRIT will teach us all things. Man does teach the WORD of GOD (truthfully it is the SPIRIT of GOD in man and not man himself), but we should never teach the WORD without encouraging each listener to actively seek on their own how anything works into their personal walks in CHRIST JESUS. If man does not encourage this, what they say is not from GOD, period.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
This comes from inside of us as we submit ourselves to the voice of GOD, as we eagerly seek HIS face and will in our lives. It does not come because we adhered to laws, or the words of a man, we must as individuals do our part and be willing to see the vital need and necessity of GOD in our lives guiding our every second of every day. We will obey JESUS as we know HIM better, as we can honestly say I love YOU JESUS and desire to please you and know that I am here for YOUR purposes only, not my own selfish greed and conceit.
May the LORD bless each reader with HIS guidance and voice that can teach what no man can, in what is said here today and in all things.
