Pea Wee’s Journey
By Kaye Petts
Pea Wee started out like any other ordinary sprout, completely dependent on the elements and her parents for survival. She was living on ordinary turf, with an ordinary brother sprout and ordinary parents. Pea Wee’s life was good.
Pea Wee's parents loved her with all their hearts and like any good and ordinary parents, they began to cultivate her. They wanted, oh so much, to see their little sprout grow. They watered her with love, fertilized her with encouragement, sprinkled her everyday with the truth of God and prayed for a hedge of protection that would surround their little weed. And low and behold, Pea Wee began to grow!
She started out slow in her growth, spindly and struggling, but her parents were not about to give up. Like any good and ordinary parents, they continued cultivating Pea Wee, knowing that one day their hard work would pay off.
Then, one ordinary day, in her ordinary life, something extraordinary happened. This was the moment her parents were waiting for. Pea Wee began to turn toward the Son!! The Son was the only light she could find in all the darkness of the world. She realized that without the Son, she would die. Pea Wee loved who she was in the Son.
Pea Wee could feel herself changing. Each day she grew stronger, gaining knowledge and wisdom, able to withstand the storms and even survive the days without rain. She was no longer the little sprout she used to be. She had bloomed into a most beautiful, magnificent flower. Not only had Pea Wee changed into a flower, but her desires had changed too. She knew it was now time to begin some cultivating of her own. She wanted nothing more than to help other sprouts find the Son, lest they die. Thus, begins Pea Wee's journey.
