What My Bible Means To Me
Where do I begin?
Its hard to express in few words something that affects my life so entirely. Its what I cling to in times of pain, heartache and struggles because I know it contains all the comfort I need.
It reminds me that God is always near, that He is my Rock, and that if He doesnt want to lift me above the storms of life,He walks me through them.
But, He is always there.
When I am uncertain about the future,or worried because of circumstances it tells me to trust and acknowledge Him in all ways. It tells me to delight in the Lord and He will give me the desires of my heart.
Not only does Gods Word comfort me but it disciplines me. It contains everything I need
for life and godliness. In order for me to be more like Christ,I need to be obedient to His commands.
When I sin,it tells me to repent. When someone sins against me,it tells me to forgive - and forget.
It teaches me how to pray, what to pray for, and why. It teaches me humility, love, compassion, gentleness, meekness, patience and wisdom.
It commands me to tell the world of Gods love and forgiveness, and Christs sacrifice. I must preach repentance and forgiveness.
It teaches me to be content whatever the circumstances, and that God uses everything for His good pleasure and for His glory.
It tells me of His holiness, power and majesty; that He is the same yesterday, today and forever; that He is greater than the one in the world.
I can trust this Book. It stands the test of time. It reminds me that there are only two things that will last forever the Word of God and the souls of men.
I have met the One who wrote this Book.
He is real.
He is eternal.
He is powerful.
He is love.
He is King of Kings
and Lord of Lords
and He lives in me.
I do not deserve to have access to this precious Book. I do not deserve his forgiveness, his love, his patience and his eternal presence.
If there is anything that I would give my life for, anything I would sacrifice everything for it would be Gods holy Word and His Person.
To him be the glory forever!
Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105
