In the Dark

In the dark you cannot see
Who I am or want to be
In the lonely night of pain
Blood flows down from every vein
Stinging sharp and running free
Running, running over me.
Cries unheard and fear within
In every dream the shadows dim
In the dark you cannot see
Who I am and cannot be
In a sea of deadly choice
The burning salt has drowned my voice
In an endless timeless sky
Here it is to drift and die
For in the dark you cannot see
Where I am or come to me
In my darkness on my own
You cannot come
I am alone.

In your darkness I can see
Who you are for I am He
Who died for you and came again
To lift you up and know your pain
Come to heal and set you free
Come now my child, oh come to me.
I hear your cries, I never fail
The evil one shall not prevail
In your darkness I can see
Who you are for I am He
Truth who pierced the gates of hell
The Word shall be your voice to tell
The Light that holds in tight embrace
The promise of redeeming Grace
In your darkness I can see
Who you are for I am He
I hear you cry and I am come
no more alone
now we are one.
