Lift up your longing eyes on high
Your long-awaited Love appears!
Oh, look towards the Eastern sky
The answer to your yearning nears.
Maranatha!
Hear how His footsteps hasten near,
Their echo sounds throughout the land
Each earthquake, famine, heartache, fear
Proclaim redemption, soon at hand!
Maranatha!
Oh earth, as autumn sheds its leaves,
So you do swiftly fade away;
In labor pains you sigh and grieve
To usher in a better day.
Maranatha!
Oh precious Bride, I hear your sighs,
I see your heartache, toil and pain,
How sin and death raise weary cries,
"When shall my Loved One come again?"
Maranatha!
Awake, O sleeping virgins, rise!
Trim well your lamps and burn them bright.
Be ready, watchful as the skies
Burst forth His Radiance through the night!
Maranatha!
Oh long-awaited moment, haste!
For 'fillment of our dreams we sigh;
Towards the sky our gaze is placed
Where our redemption draweth nigh!
Maranatha!
