Marriage

As I walked this morning in cool fresh air, with flowers growing all around,
I saw different tiny blooms aglow, small little treasures close to the ground.

And I imagined bringing them all together into a lovely garden I'd grow, and arrange them all into a living picture into which I'd be small enough to go.

There would be a stately backdrop of Irises, standing guard in a row, and below them would be a carpet of violets, their rich purple all aglow.

There would be a tiny path in the center, paved with tiny stones of white, leading down to a tiny fountain sparkling in the sunlight.

Along the path would be tiny flowers, holding their cups of gold, each one filled with a drop of dew they were just big enough to hold.

Scattered here and there in the scene were tall slender stems with flowers of blue shaped like bells when they were closed, but they would open like umbrellas do.

I imagined strolling down that path, drinking a golden cup of dew, and seeing down at the end of the path my dream come to life in you.

Together we'd spend our days in the garden, discovering God's gifts to us there, this little picture full of joy and peace is the love that we both share.

Jesus laid down the path that we follow, paved with tiny stones all aglow, leading to the fountain we see, where the living water of God's word does flow.

We drink from the golden cups along the path, there is nothing we'd rather do, than spend our time in this garden of grace, sharing this gift of love so true.

I thank God for giving me an imagination to think up these fanciful scenes, all to try and picture our love in a thousand different dreams.

There are so many lovely images, all shaped by our Father above, and all are beautiful reminders to me of the wonder of our love.
