As I went out to walk today, the fresh smell of rain was in the air the clouds were all gray and hanging low to the ground reminding me of my childhood, transporting me there brightening the colors of the flowers scattered all around.

I remember bursting out of the side door, when the rain was done and skipping in my bare feet through the wet grass flinging my arms wide, headlong I would run full of joy, hoping the feeling would last.

I don't know if it was being let out of the house after so long, or that special fresh-washed smell in the air, but the rest of that day became like a beautiful song, that took away all of my cares.

Jesus gave me that feeling when He rescued me, washing my heart so clean and giving me new eyes with which to see, telling me that He would always be there, on Him I could ever lean, He gave me wings, and set my spirit free.

God gave me this feeling once more, the day I fell in love with you; this wondrous gift of love was mine.

I dreamed this dream, not daring to hope, and God made it come true our hearts forever intertwined.

Now every morning begins with this burst of hope, like children we run out the door, into a fresh-washed day full of love and joy, this day is so full, how could we ever ask for more, happiness more than we could ever say?

And I thank God for the gentle rain that falls, leaving that smell in the air, for the reminder of what His love has done, giving me my Lucian and the love that we share.

God loves us so much, He took us two and made us one.
