Encouragement

I press on toward the mark of Christ
I run to win this race;
Forgetting things which lay behind
I’m fixed upon this pace

The things that once were gain to me
I count them now as loss;
Exchanging them for Excellency
And knowledge in the cross

That through the fellowship of Christ
Conforming to His death;
It will be said, in Christ my Lord
No confidence in flesh

My heart is set upon this goal
The upward call of Christ;
That I might gain His righteousness
And resurrection life.

So let us then, if we’re mature
Be faithful and we’ll find;
We’ve all attained the same degree
All having the same mind

That we will run and set our hearts
With Heaven as our goal;
As patiently we wait for Him
While through this life we stroll.
