Women
Nowadays we moms are always in a hurry. We hurry to go to work, hurry and send the children to school, hurry to get home, hurry to cook, get the kids, go to the meeting, and get ready for the husband. Rush, rush, rush. With this microwave society we live in, the busyness of life leaves many of us feeling inadequate and unfulfilled. Often so much time is devoted to others that we forget about ourselves and when we finally take time for ourselves we are made to feel guilty. Despite the constant rush, God wants us to take time with Him. He loves us so much that He desires that we would come to Him about everything. God is always ready to receive us. He is patiently awaiting us to come to Him yet we allow others to consume every second of our day.
There is enough time to take care of our responsibilities and still have time for God. It is possible to have a balanced life, we were created for it. We have an example in Proverbs 31, of the virtuous woman who because she feared (reverenced) her “Day Planner”, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ blessed her with the grace to do all she needed to manage her household. Since she sought Him she was a balanced, well adjusted woman even with all she had to do. It is so important that we go before Our Father to receive direction and instruction as we minister to our family around us.
God confirms that He wants us to live guilt-free balanced lives. In (Luke 10:42, KJV), when Jesus visited Mary and Martha, Martha was busy making sure everything was in order, (like many of us do). Mary on the other hand, sat at Jesus’ feet and fellowshipped with Him. Martha was agitated and asked Jesus to tell Mary to help out. He told her that Mary chose the good part. The good part is having a relationship with Jesus Christ, the good part is that Mary knew how to stop and go before the Father and get direction for her life. Mary recognized that through her relationship with Jesus her life would have order and she did not have to be stressed out. Martha was so busy that she did not stop to receive anything from Jesus and found herself frustrated and overwhelmed.
Are you a Mary or a Martha? Are you constantly consumed with the happenings of life and cannot seem to find time to yourself? Are you more balanced like Mary and take time sit at Jesus’ feet? Since all things belong to God, including time, we can go to Him and He will show us how to make the best use of His time. He is our time manager. We are advised in Matthew 6:33 (KJV), to seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto us, that includes a peace that would have us free of stress and guilt. Moms it is okay to take a break, busy does not mean better. Yes, you can have a balanced life, guilt-free, because truly “there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus”, (Romans 8:1, KJV). When the busyness of life has you feeling anxious, take a break, find a quiet place, take a deep breath, and consult your Day Planner, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Enjoy life balanced and guilt-free.
