Kentucky
The Song of God’s Heart

The fragrant rain falls and fills the air with the scent of greening grass and budding trees.

The earth softens, yields and conforms to the Master’s hand making ready for another season.

The presence of tender life, the sweet odor of infancy engulf and proclaim the ushering of Springtime and the Glory of the Lord.

The golden brown creek waters traveling over dark brown earth and rock swell with the rain’s contribution while the ducks gather gracefully to swim and survey.

The songbirds return and call one to another their glad tidings riding on the morning breeze.

The early songs of praise and thanksgiving flowing upward to the Master echo back to humankind the eternal glory of Creation.

From dusk to dawn, night to morn, the world is astir while the wood is agrow.

The deer frolic, the hares kibitz, and wild turkey roam across the hills, rocks, rills and in the caverns of this land they call home.

Kentucky, the song of God’s heart is what they sing. The sweet land of bluegrass and clear sky to us You bring.

Kentucky, Kentucky, the waters that flow out from the river nearby

Nourish the land and bring pleasure to the human eye

Kentucky, Kentucky, the work of God’s loving hand
Nature resounds and returns to tell of the glory and span

Of a Creator so dear. so precious, so loving with His hands.

Kentucky, Kentucky, eternal green and living water flow

It is here He tells us of majesty, the whole world to show!
