Faith

His friends called him Caleb. Nobody knew what his real name was. All we knew was that he was different from anyone who had ever come to our village before. He was getting on in years now, and although other men of his age would be content to take rest and let others who were younger to go. He continued in his service for the one he called "Master."

He had travelled a long ways, and was weary from his journey. It was at this point that his faith would be tested as never before. He wondered, why it always seemed to be so. Why, when he was least prepared for temptation that it always seemed to come his way. Or was it only when he was weary, that he seemed to be more aware of his own weakness.

In his total weakness, he struggled to his knees for he knew that it was only when he was on his knees that he would find strength. His own strength was depleted. Kneeling down was not an easy task anymore, not like in the days of his youth. Those days seemed so far behind him now. Kneeling down and looking up with a strange look of expectancy he began to pray ....
