By the way -- Happy Valentine's Day! You are loved. Since I'm
diabetic, Betty sent me this valentine: "Roses are red; violets are blue;
sugar is sweet, but it's not for you." Kill-joy!

In my lifetime I've had my share of thrilling moments -- I got to briefly
play the organs at both the Mormon Tabernacle in SLC and at Radio
City Music Hall in NYC, but I can't possibly imagine the thrill it must
be for a young person to stand on the Olympic platform and receive a
gold medal for being the best in the world and having your country's
anthem played in your honor. It would be ultra-awesome!

Do you know what is even more awesome? Having the approval of
God. Do we actively seek God's stamp of approval on our daily life?
Is our aim today to please Him? It should be. Olympic athletes crave
the approval of their audience, and we should do the same, knowing
that our ultimate audience is God, but we also have that crowd of
witnesses around us -- some cheering us on and some just waiting for
us to goof-up. We are being watched, and not just by God.

2 Tim. 4:8 (nlt): "And now the prize awaits me -- the crown of
righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that
great day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who
eagerly look forward to His glorious return." Gold medals and Oscars
can be stolen, but hallelujah, our crown is secure in God's vault.
