The Emmaus Journal
To Serve Or To Be Served




The horrific casualties of the War in Iraq mount up every day as we are pummeled with 24 hour War News broadcasted direct into our living rooms. As if the visual affects were not enough, the emotional effects permeate our civilian infrastructure at the same time. Our numerous men and women in Service are paying the ultimate price for the welfare of Iraq and America. They are serving valiantly within their troops to steadily bring about the final victory. Our Armed Services are serving us well, and in-turn, serving the whole World as well! I know we all stand together in support and prayer for God's keeping power to be with all our Troops.


In direct contrast to all of this stands the Christian Nation as well. To all Believers and to every Disciple of Jesus Christ a call to Duty had been proclaimed! God's people have been put on alert, AGAIN! A call of alarm should have struck your spirit, AGAIN! Not just for our countries sake but for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our basic Belief's as Disciples of Jesus Christ are under siege and have been under attack for a long time now, well before the War in Iraq, and well before the infamous September 11th. We have seen and been oblivious partakers of the disintegration of the True Gospel. But, because the onslaught attack is so heavily disguised we have not and are not addressing this Enemy.


Unlike a direct frontal assault where the enemy is unmistakably right in front of you, our Enemy has instead cleverly infiltrated our ranks. Undercover, yet fully and dangerously armed, our Enemy has purposed a progressive usurping of our beliefs and position with Christ. Using slow and steady deceit our Enemy has strategically undermined our focus on Jesus Christ and effectually, with strong delusions, built a plethoric platform focusing on the Believer instead. Mixing and twisting beliefs to concoct a poisonous milk for the young in Faith and spiking the meat to the older, these 'seducing spirits' have even leveled some of the very strongest of our Christian Soldiers.


Our casualties abound on all fronts now. Our Leaders in Faith are becoming more difficult to discern, and we as Believers in Jesus Christ have surreptitiously become self centered and progressively self serving. We are promised a Faith that acquires and produces plenty for all as we constitutionally follow such decrees proclaimed as the Anointed Word to the Church. Our Enemy has plagued Believers with false condemnation who might daringly rebuttal the New Church Order or its Charismatic Leaders or even the broadcasting of such Beliefs; that may strike at our spirit as an arrow to wound. We are inadvertently and subtlety threatened to Believe as 'True Believers' should, or we become outcasts and cannot partake of the riches in Christ Jesus.


Why such strong indignation? Because, I believe, we are being bamboozled more and more. As Soldiers of the Cross, we as Believers are to remain in tune to Jesus Christ and to the Kingdom of God first! The simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has become in some parts a sly Hucksters Show, with our Enemy and His Troops as the local PR's behind the scene. We are forced to choose between the best Shell Game in town, for the business of The Church must go on at all expense. Our Enemy has profligately reformed our ranks into powerless malignant neoplasm's! New Soldiers of the Cross are being inducted to serve Megalithic Churches as indentured servants. With a great array of battalion testimonies our Mega Leaders have bombarded our spirits with promising schemes of wealth, health, and happiness forever. Our Enemy, as the Angel of Light, as piled Scriptures upon scriptures and tied them neatly together to show us the immense possibilities, if we will but follow!


Progressively, our Enemy is turning our eyes away from the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God, to openly betray our fundamental Faith and Foundation of Grace by which we are saved. With prideful guile our Enemy has once again openly declared a state of War against the Lord and His Disciples. Believers everywhere must be on guard, for the days that were prophesied to us are here! Matthew 24:3, II Timothy 3, Revelation 3:14! If we had to choose between serving Jesus Christ as Soldiers of His Cross and serving our Enemy by serving ourself first in the guise of charismatic religion, could we? Could we even discern the difference? I pray so. I pray we all look into this more carefully, and ask Jesus to help us discern the times we are living in. The battle is raging all around us. Perhaps this call to arms once again, will stop one more of our Christian Soldiers from falling to the Enemies Sword.


As we pray for our U.S. Troops and Allies, lets remember to pray for our Christian Soldiers world wide also. That we would not fall prey to the advances of our own Enemy!
