If today became the last day
I had left on this earth;
I’d want to leave a legacy
Of value and of worth.

I’d want to make sure everything
I did, and words I’d say;
Became the avenue of hope
I’d leave behind today.

I’d make sure it was understood
That Jesus is my Lord;
I’d tell about His saving grace
And what the Cross affords.

I wouldn’t leave a stone unturned
With old friends and with new;
I’d tell them all what Father God
And Jesus Christ can do.

I’d want my motives based in love
And spoken from the heart;
Explain the purpose of the cross
And new life that could start.

And to the ones who mean the most
One thing I’d do for sure;
I’d tell them how I really feel
And show them love endures.

Now herein lies a lesson learned
To all who bear His name;
Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed
That life in us remains.

And we should live our last days first
Reflecting God’s own Son;
That when we stand to give account
We’ll hear Him say “Well Done.”

So go ahead, and live this day
As though it were your last;
Don’t be afraid to walk out love
For time will quickly pass.

Give of yourself and don’t hold back
With everything you’ve got;
Love, forgive and seek the good
In those His Blood has bought.

So if today becomes the last
Already treasure’s stored;
You’ll live out all eternity
In Heavenly reward.
