Our neighbour had a cow
that loved to wander.
Very talented
at opening gates.

She loved to munch our apples
trailing on the fence,
devour cabbages
with utter freedom.
No method stopped
her burning desire
to not lose those treats.

My Mother's active imagination
thought of a solution.
A swing rail was made
just in front of the gate.
When Daisy entered
she couldn't step over it,
or get under it.
Our cabbages thrived!
