I was thinking of the beach during these hot summer days, crowds walking, churning up the sand, and then how it must be in the quiet of the night, the beach smoothed by an unseen hand.

It’s like God takes the tide like a brush in his hand and wipes away the cares of the day, and prepares the sand for a new dawn yet to come, a blank canvas of smooth wet sand.

Each day the sand is disturbed, stirred up in a thousand ways, but it matters not to Him, He knows just what to do, for in the night-quiet, He restores it all, His timeless, serene ocean view.

It reminds me of our love and the life we live each day, our sand stirred up and trampled by the cares along the way, but each night it is renewed, the cares are washed away, smoothed by the small waves of the prayers that we say.

Each day it is brand new, with discoveries to be made, footprints to leave as we run along the beach, for each day brims with promise, with new things to discover and learn, new goals that together we can reach.

Each loving thought, each caring touch, each word of love that I say to you, is like another wave that smoothes out the cares, leaving only an ocean of love in our view.

Each gesture that I make, each loving touch and word, you take and add your love to give back to me, and the true joy of our life is the giving and receiving, helping us to become all that we are meant to be.

I begin each day with prayer, and end it with the same; giving thanks to my Father in heaven above, for all the blessings He's poured out in my life, and most of all for the gift of you, and our love.

Each day I think it can't get any better, then it does, to my delight, and words fail me when I try to tell you how much I love you, so I will show you the ocean reaching far as the eye can see, an ocean of my love so true.
