Fluffy green balls
cover the snowball tree
waved
by a gentle breeze.
Bird notes fill the air,
as they sing
to each other
in happy song.
The adventurous
asparagus form
happily trails its fronds
around the verandah's
intricate woodwork.
The yellow greens
of the cumquat
rest in contrast
to the sombre pines.
Orange chimney pots
throw deep shadows.
The breeze gets stronger
tickling branches
of the crepe myrtle tree.
I am brought into
a world of beauty.
A deep peace
rests in my spirit.
