I watched a lady one day take paper and fold it so deftly, that when she was done the paper had been completely changed and turned into a fanciful little bird.

The paper had been very pretty on its own, with a different pattern on each side, but just by using her knowledge and skill, the artist had changed the paper into art.

I think of that when I look at my life, and how different it is now than before I met you - for when I was alone, I was like that unfolded paper, pretty on each side, but with no plan and nothing to do.

Though I longed to make something more of my life, no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to work, and all my efforts ended up producing nothing, I was missing the skills to make it all come together.

Then one day I met Jesus, and He changed my life and my heart, and showed me how things could be different, that with Him I could have a new start.

He smoothed out the wrinkles that were pressed into my life-paper, and added His forgiveness and grace, and taught me to trust and believe again, that my world could become a lovely place.

Then He took the paper and folded it, as only He could do, and added another lovely paper to it, for into my life He brought you.

Together He fashioned our two papers into one, revealing new things every day, and made my life one of dreams that have come true, for He gave me love when He gave me you.

I thank God each day for being the artist who can make lovely things where there were none, and for bringing us together, for the joy that fills my world because we are one.

Each day we make new folds, the paper's design is changed, and the old one becomes brand new, but each fold is just another expression of how very much I love you!
