Song Of War

What dangerous minds can cause
How can they decline
To preserve the heart of Freedom
In the year of '39?

Some beds were made on the field
Some live to tell the story
Of the havoc that was reeked
In the year of 1940.

The past can not be changed
The damage has been done
The stamp of grief is sealed
On the year of '41.

What evil hearts can concoct
What gentle hearts can soothe
What sympathetic hearts can assuage
The grief of '42?

What intelligent mind can fathom
What human mind can conceive
The pain that was caused to many
In the year of '43?

What ears can hear the tales
What eyes can see the horror
And bear to tell the story
Of 1944?

For us all they've done their fighting
'Tis a wonder they're alive.
But the conflict has finally ended
In the year of '45.

The generations they have past,
But countries still bear the scars.
Pain still burns like fire
In many so many hearts.
