DID YOU KNOW THAT HE HAD TO TAKE IT AWAY
In the parable of the tenants (Matthew 25:14-30), they were two valuable points that were placed there. After the first two servants had revealed that they had doubled the talents the master had given them, the master responded with “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” But when the third servant had revealed that he had did nothing with his talent, the master responded, “Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.”
This passage was clearly referring to money. When we are faithful and good stewards with our money, God will richly bless us with more. But if we are not, God will take it away from us. This passage of scripture is also applicable to other things our lives. If we are faithful with our friends, our earthly possessions, our homes, our talents and our ministries, God will richly bless and honor them. But if we are not faithful with them, God will take them away.
Let’s examine ourselves, how many of us lack in abundance of money? Is it because we spent it on things that was not pleasing to God, did we buy one video game too many, did we use it to purchase things that was not pleasing to God, did we buy one pair of shoes too many? Did God have to take some of it away? What about our friends, do we lack in good quality friends? Did we take our friends for granted, did we continuously neglect to lift them up, did we continuously forget to honor their birthdays and other dates of importance, did we share with the world the secrets of our friends? Did God have to take some of them away from us because we were not good stewards over the friends that we had? What about your home, do you cry out that you only have a one bedroom, but yet have 5 people in your family? Do you cry to God to bless you with a bigger home, but yet have not taken care of the small one that he has given you? What about your church, have you been disappointed about your small ministry? Did God have to put a cap on the number of people that you minister to because you have not been a good shepherd over the people that you have? Did you fail to meet their needs when you were able to do so? What about your talents? Did God take away your ability to use your talents and gifts, because you did not honor him with it? This is why I respect my brothers and sisters on Faith Writers who are using their talent to write and glorify His name, I know that God will honor and bless his children who are continuously doing so.
Lets’ examine ourselves, are we lacking in abundance of anything because we have failed to be good stewards of the ones that God has given us? If so, repent, as I have done, and pray that God will restore these things and then you will be able to share in the master’s happiness. Amen.
