Casting aside his net,
In the sand of Galilee’s Sea
Peter left all he knew
When bade "Come, follow Me."
And though the path was weary,
And the road wore ever on,
The One who walked beside him
Was able to keep him strong.

And He will lift you up,
He will help you stand.
Though a thousand troubles rise against you
They will bow at His command.
For He will be your shelter,
Keeping you ever near.
While our Savior is among us,
We have no need to fear.

Shivering in the tempest
He feared that all was lost,
Knowing not which way to turn
As the helpless ship was tossed.
Till, walking upon the water,
Appeared the Lord of earth and sea:
"Be not afraid!" "Lord, if it is You.
Then bid me come to Thee."

And He will lift you up,
He will help you stand.
Though a thousand troubles rise against you
They will bow at His command.
For He will be your shelter,
Keeping you ever near.
While our Savior is among us,
We have no need to fear.

Again, upon restless seas,
His heart sank like a rock.
For wild wind, rain, and angry wave
Seemed to ridicule and mock.
Calling to his sleeping Lord,
"We will die, unless this cease!"
Stillness reigned over storm
With His single word of "Peace!"

And He will lift you up,
He will help you stand.
Though a thousand troubles rise against you
They will bow at His command.
For He will be your shelter,
Keeping you ever near.
While our Savior is among us,
We have no need to fear.

Once more a lonely fisherman,
Peter cast out his net.
Betraying his loving Lord
Was something he would never forget.
When it seemed all was finished,
His Lord stood on the shore
Granting Peter the love and mercy
We all are looking for.

And He will lift you up,
He will help you stand.
Though a thousand troubles rise against you
They will bow at His command.
For He will be your shelter,
Keeping you ever near.
While our Savior is among us,
We have no need to fear.
