The High Price!
Jesus called out to them, "Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how to fish for people!" ( just like that? seriously? Someone might exclaim.)
And they left their nets at once and went with him. Mark 1:17,18.

They left all. That's the only way to follow God wholeheartedly. Hallelujah!

That's the kind of PROMPT and ABSOLUTE faith and obedience that pleases God greatly! Our roles in God's vineyard vary. As a result, not everyone is called into full time ministry. And there are those on part time ministry that God expects to grow in faith into their full ministry responsibilities by going full time, especially those called into the five fold Ministry of the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. Ephesians 4:7-16. This is a very high calling that requires the lowest and extreme level of servant hood! The greater the calling or office, the more lowly we serve.

Many, called into ministry to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ are reluctant to obey the Lord of the harvest wholeheartedly. The reasons or seemingly cogent excuses vary and abound.

Some people won't obey because of fear of the future, but fear and faith don't mix, they're miles apart. Fear in our hearts will always oppose our faith to do the will of God.

Another reason people fail to venture into ministry wholeheartedly is the pride to retain, preserve and keep working on jobs that appeal to our personal dreams, ambitions, goals, human standards and expectations. It's very hard for many of us to change, even when we're convinced it's God's will for us.

And another reason many that the Lord had called are not yet in their divine duty post is ignorance of the benefits of working fully, wholly and enthusiastically in God's vineyard or ministry.

Mark.10.28 - 30.
Then Peter began to mention all that he and the other disciples had left behind. "We've given up everything to follow you," he said.
And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News,
will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property--with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life.

Nevertheless, the list of flimsy excuses keep growing and going on and on. But since God honours faith, we must seek His help to do His will willingly! We must discipline ourselves to continue seeking the Lord until we're totally empty of ourselves, in order to be totally full of the Holy Spirit's desires.

It doesn't happen overnight!

The high price we pay for the anointing or a great ministry is NOT the cost of earning or purchasing God's power, favor or approval!
But the painful cost of losing ourselves, our will, our precious desires and our well planned, thought out and articulate dreams and goals,, IN EXCHANGE FOR OUR MASTER'S ETERNAL PLANS FOR US!

Luke.14.26-28
"If you want to be my follower you must love me more than your own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, more than your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. And you cannot be my disciple if you do not carry your own cross and follow me.
"But don't begin until you count the cost.

That's a huge cost indeed, but nothing compared to God's blessings, glory and great eternal rewards just ahead!

John 12:24-26.
The truth is, a kernel of wheat must be planted in the soil. Unless it dies it will be alone--a single seed. But its death will produce many new kernels--a plentiful harvest of new lives.
Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who despise their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. All those who want to be my disciples must come and follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And if they follow me, the Father will honor them.

It's not surprising therefore to note that communities, cities and nations where we find great revival in the Churches, the ministers and leadership have risked all and are totally, fully and wholeheartedly involved in ministry! And that's how the glorious miraculous work of the ministry overflows as great, godly influences into their immediate society and then multitudes turn to God through Christ Jesus for answers.
