The souls of every born-again believer were immediately, completely, and permanently saved (Rom. 8: 1/John 5: 34).

But as far as discipleship is concerned, all born-again believers remain to be a “work in progress,” being at different levels of spiritual maturity.

One can only be used by God to evangelize or to edify others to the extent that he himself has a clear and accurate understanding of the unadulterated Gospel Message for salvation, and a clear and accurate understanding of Bible Doctrine, as it pertains to post salvation discipleship.

To the extent that one lacks such understanding, they can unwittingly become useful tools in the hands of the devil and or his Eph. 6: 12 forces of evil, being deceived themselves and then giving others a “bum steer.”

They may have had the best of intentions, but a bullet fired in ignorance can be just as lethal as one that is fired with malicious intent.

Jesus rubbed elbows with all kinds of sinners, but NEVER did He take part in their sinful activities. He knew when, where, and how to draw the line. So will an advancing disciple.

James, writing to a group of BORN AGAIN, Heaven bound believers of his day (and ours) wrote…

“You (spiritual) adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with this world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God (James 4: 4 NASB2020 parenthesis mine).”

Born again believers need not to be concerned about losing their way and finding themselves back on the road that leads to the Rev. 20: 15 type of destruction. He or she was permanently removed from that road (John 5: 24) on the day he or she was born-again.

Never-the-less, there comes a time in the life of every, Heaven bound, born-again believer, when he or she chooses to walk and or remain with the minority of born-again believers along the straight and narrow path of post salvation discipleship, or go along with the majority of born-again, Heaven bound believers along the wide and broad paths, that leads to no production of the fruit that God has in mind for him or her to take part in.

Better, if necessary, to stand alone and endure the inevitable persecution (2Tim. 3: 12), suffering, deprivation, and loss for being in fellowship with Christ while here on Earth, than to shake hands with the devil (Luke 4: 6) and suffer the 1Cor. 3: 15 consequences for all of eternity in Heaven.

Life is short. Eternity is forever.

It does make a difference as to what roads you choose to take while here on Earth.

There is only one road that leads to Heaven (John 14: 6).

After being saved, you will come to a folk where there are two available roads to choose from. One is self-centered, living for self, doing the things that pleases one self.

The other is Christ-centered, living for Christ (Phil. 1: 21), picking up one’s own 2Tim. 3:12 cross, and following Him.

These choices and accompanying outcomes are in your hands.

We are free to choose which roads we take, but not free from having to make those choices, and then reaping the accompanying blessings or consequences associated with the road we choose.

Which road are you on?

“Do not be deceived. God is not marked; for whatever a person sows, this he WILL also reap (Gal. 6: 7 NASB2020),” be it in time, or in eternity.
