Human nature comes with a carnal mind, which naturally is focused on things pertaining to the world and fueled by feelings and emotions.  The human mind resists the supernatural.  When the spiritual realm attempts to enter the carnal mind, it is immediately met with resistance.  If something is not logical or tangible, it is rejected as fantasy or erroneous speculation.

The control tower at the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago averages between 1,400 and 1,500 arrivals a day, 90 to 110 an hour. The controllers make decisions based on factual data.  There is no room for speculation based on feelings or emotions.  If an unidentified plane attempts to fly into the grid, it is waved off and rejected.  It has been estimated that people entertain over 6,000 thoughts per day.  When an unidentified thought attempts to infiltrate the carnal mind, it is rejected by logical and tangible realities.

How does the Gospel reach the control center of the unbeliever?  There has been considerable interest in things known as UFOs.   Curiosity has sparked interest beyond individual intelligence.  Investigations have been conducted to comprehend the things alien to their understanding. 

One of the approaches to the carnal control center is to present a non-threatening approach.  People will observe and hear the intrusion with speculation.  The messengers of the Gospel should represent Jesus outwardly, drawing observations of interest.  Christians are noticed by their love and acceptance of one another. (John 13: 35)  They should be a fruit tree filled to overflowing with joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5: 22, 23) 

When the secular control tower sees something that is different and non-threatening, it may require more information.  When the investigation seeks more data, the doorway to the Gospel is opened.

It is not how loud we speak or the Christian paraphernalia we exhibit, but the Grace of God shown through our lives.
