Sin has no hold on us

After Good Friday and Easter Sunday...how are you doing so far?

Do you know the 'victory' is also ours in Christ Jesus?

Yes, we thanked God for sending His one and only Son to die on our behalf. We now according to the Bible, are also raised with Christ Jesus, from death to LIFE. Do you know that you too are raised from death to life when you believe in the name of Jesus (when you acknowledged He has died for your sins and now through believing in Him, you have a proper relationship with the Heavenly Father. Death has no more power over Jesus and also no more power over your life! 

Perhaps we need to pause and meditate on this: 

What does that actually mean for you personally? Being raised from death to life - What is that 'life'? Remember John 4, we read that Jesus was talking to a woman at the well, He was showing the woman that He is the living water and for those who goes to Him will never get thirsty again. The life in Jesus is rich and endless, never run dry! There is one condition for us to do: we need to go to Him. Jesus also described as the 'light' of the world - His light is shining for all to see. In Luke 4:4, Jesus is also the 'bread' of life. Let us go to Him by faith, knowing that in Him we can have everything we need. Know for sure that 'sin' has indeed no hold on you and me now. We are no longer a slave to sin. We are children of God. Amen. 

We can all serve God in a new way of living in the Spirit - Romans 7:6

Even though we are still living in the body (our physical bodies) and we are still living in this sinful world. We might still be struggling somehow. You are not alone. Jesus was also tempted by the devil up on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights. He was able to overcome all temptations! We might be tempted as well but we can also walk in triumph like Jesus! 

Yes, when we submitted all our beings to the Lordship of Christ Jesus - James 4:7 says this: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you". In Ephesians 6 from verses 14-17 also reminded us how to fight off our temptations or spiritual battle from the evil one. 

The Six Pieces of the Armour

• The Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14): Buckle on the truth of God’s word to protect against deception and lies.




• The Breastplate of Righteousness (Ephesians 6:14): Protect your heart by receiving Jesus' righteousness and living with integrity, shielding against temptations.




• Feet Fitted with the Gospel of Peace (Ephesians 6:15): Be ready to move, act, and share God’s peace, grounding yourself in His stability.




• The Shield of Faith (Ephesians 6:16): Use faith to trust God, which extinguishes the doubts and temptations (flaming arrows) thrown at you.




• The Helmet of Salvation (Ephesians 6:17): Protect your mind by remembering your salvation, allowing God's truth to dictate your thoughts.




• The Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17): Use the Word of God as an offensive weapon to combat lies.

God understood our struggles on this earth and in His words (the Bible) He has explained the ways how we can handle spiritual battle with VICTORY IN CHRIST JESUS. Do remember 'Sin' has no hold on you anymore. Believe it not just in your head, let this truth sinks into your deepest heart. You can proclaim and confess it with your mouth out loud as many times as you need it, let this truth sinks down so that when temptations or trials come your way, you know what to do immediately. 

Fight the good fight of FAITH - it is our FAITH in the name of Jesus that can overcome the world. Amen. 

"For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." Romans 10:10

Cling to the grace and mercy of God daily - it is okay to cry out to God through Psalms, just like King David did. God will not despise broken hearts, go to Him in prayer and trust that He will come to your rescue. Walk in His VICTORY today.
