No one Knows the Day

Matthew 24:36 Yet about that day and hour no one knows, not the angels, not even the Son, only the Father alone.

This verse contradicts Daniel 12:10, Psalm 25:14, Isaiah 46:10, Isaiah 48:16, Amos 3:7, 2 Peter 1:19 Revelation 1:1 and 1 Thessalonians 5:4 But you, friends, are not in the dark; the Day will not come upon you like a thief. Note that this ‘Day of the Lord’ is NOT the Return, as verse 3 makes clear- ‘sudden destruction is upon them’ [godless peoples]

So there must be an explanation for this serious anomaly. It is this: analysis of Matthew 24:36 –

1/ What is the event referred to? The preceding verse- 35 says: Heaven and earth will pass away...... This is what happens at the end of the Millennium, Revelation 20:11.

2/ The time period in which it was spoken - the commencement of the Church age. As Daniel says: These words are to be kept secret and sealed until the time of the end.

3/ Spoken to the disciples – They were not to know or teach about the time gap.

4/ Jesus Himself did not know – UNTIL He went to be with the Father.

So, what Jesus said then, does not apply to His Return or to the forthcoming fire judgement, but to the final Judgement of all mankind at the Great White Throne, and if we are His friends, then we should not be in the dark about our future.

The time periods given to us, particularly in Ezekiel 4:4-6 and in Leviticus 26 are not there for no reason, all Scripture is for our instruction. I have seen other methods of calculating them, with weird results. All those God fearing and sincerely seeking scholars and groups that have gone before us, got it wrong because they were not as close to the end time as we are, it wasn’t God’s timing that they should know.

 Many seem to believe that the next event is the return of Jesus. This is not correct, as the clear sequence in Revelation shows. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; where it says that Jesus cannot come until the Adversary enthrones himself in the Temple. This means that the Temple must be rebuilt. How can that happen under the present situation? There must be a dramatic worldwide change and what that is, is what I point out in my writings.

People say that ‘an essential requirement of the Return, is the Gospel preached throughout the world’. This will happen – it is the 144,000 who do that, they will be selected from all the Christian peoples who will by then be living in the new country of Beulah. That is what we should all be looking forward to and trusting the Lord for His protection during His soon to happen - terrible Day of vengeance and wrath; the Sixth Seal world wide disaster.
