Was it Effectual Prayer or Medical Intervention that Saved My Life?  You Decide.

I was never one to look for miracles, yet  I was hit broadsides with what I believe was one that kept me from the same heart-stopping procedure of cardioconversion that Pam Ford Davis experienced, whereby the heart beat is stopped (not just stunned, stopped!) and then restarted with one or more 750dc jolts applied by a chest and back HV electrodes.

Her life turned on a dime, and Father handed her back to her mission, “keep winging His words”.

On the day preceding my 76th Birthday, I had been sung “Happy Birthday” by a splendid Choir of Nurses, given a larger room accordingly, and then things went decidedly south, I had entered Afib, with an immediate scheduling for cardioversion.  

Having already been cleaned and sterilized, and just five minutes before transport, my heart had stopped my Afib.  When everything was canceled, my Cardiologist just simply said, “I do not have an answer, just that it is a very rare occurrence.”

The evidence I present to you for an effective prayer is the logical choice that resets my heart 

From Afib to Normal Sinus Rhythm. Each of the painfully erratic freefalls in BP ( systolic from 180 freefalling to 30 and bouncing right back up to 160) definitely followed an effectual prayer given by Sister Verna, and given twice more past midnight.

When Sister Verena arrived to give me relief from a sequence of burning arms for four hours from direct IV drops of Potassium, she knew what had happened.  I asked her how she knew, and she said, “I prayed for you, with God all things are possible.”

I leave it to you, our FaithWriters, to decide: Was it the effectual,  precisely timed prayers of Chaplin Sister Verena that were the power that moved the heart to save itself, or was it Medical intervention that precisely followed her prayers for me?

Miracles do happen..
