Expectant Heart

“But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” I Corin.2:9

Will I arrive in Heaven

with expectant heart?

Waiting to see and hear

that which, only in part,

I could embrace on earth.

Though eye has yet not seen,

and ear has yet not heard,

and thought cannot engrasp it,

we rely on what is written,

though thought cannot go past it.

A new heart offers entrance

to that before unknown

for then it can contain it,

for then is clearly shown

the promises made real.

But those who love Him now,

in their present story,

will know the sure reward

of gracious unseen glory

beyond earth’s cloudy vision.

Will we arrive in Heaven

with expectant hearts?

Waiting to see and hear

that which only in part

we could embrace on earth.
